Disputes are an on going thing in families. People today are struggling to keep their families and relationships together in spite of the division, deception, and discord that infiltrates our families. Many of us look at the other as if their the blame when many of us have not taken time to line our thoughts up with the word of God, nor righteousness which is simply thinking right thoughts. Sometimes the reasons we experience the challenges in family is to make changes, but in many cases when the struggle presents itself we fail to see the in-depth meaning that is being presented because we are caught up in the problem rather than finding the solution. What is the solution? Maybe its simply being Christ like as we confess without excuses being a deterrence from truth which leaves us all accountable to the Word of God?
Lets look at:
Luke 10:38-42 New International Version (NIV) helps us to see distractions concerning what is really important.
At the Home of Martha and Mary
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
The scripture clearly points out that Martha is concerned with things contrary to the will of God. Jesus tells Martha your concern is about many things, but only one thing is needed and Mary has chosen what is better, which is understand things of spiritual nature. Many times we become ingroused with the importance of what we’re doing because of traditional thinking or even stubborn, rebellious and controlling ways we desire things to be done.
Jesus came to set the captive free, and anything keeping those captive to the life of satanic powers from spiritual truths that would indeed hinder their spiritual growth. Therefore it is important to understand the order to life which means the word of God is first, and the other things in life follow. Putting things in order in our lives is the beginning of taking our power back, which Jesus gave all Christian believers who are born again. Spiritual principles fortify us with wisdom and knowledge to understand challenges in life so that we are able to seek those things of the Kingdom which equip us in overcoming challenges adding the ability to prosper as life has been given to the saints.
Example : the scripture of train a child up in the way and if he departs, he will return brings to mind understanding that there are processes we will walk through in life but by giving the word of God to our children, family members and friends the alternative to Jesus will close off the road to hell we may have been walking toward. This is the same for persons who were given God as children and became addicted to drugs, sex addictions, pornography, abuse, bitterness, anger, any type of sickness, molestation, mental health, and depression, they know from their relationship with the word in the past that this is a resource of healing and fulfillment.
The word of God brings life, it is SPIRIT and TRUTH that speaks to the heart and mind setting those held captive free, as in im-prisonment. To be bound is not always in the since of ball and chains. Many of us have been walking around believing in what we have heard throughout our up brining and through friendships that has caused our mental prisons, as well as generations of faulty traditions that were passed down, but when we take time to sit at the feet of Jesus and sup on the word chains truly began to break. The outcome all depends on what you want out of life and your will to change. Do you believe there is more for you or do you believe where you are in your life is as good as it gets?
I remember a time in my life when I suffered deep depression and did not know what it was. I had begin experiencing this as a child, but thought my mind was like most people so why would I question what I was experiencing? I had twenty eight dark days a month and two or three bright days depending on the calendar, thats a lot of darkness to look at daily and not be able to see a way through it nor have the understanding of what to do with it. I was much like Martha, I found things in life that took my attention away from what was everlasting ( the word )trying to replace it, really I don’t think I believed in the everlasting I had been taught, but I did believe in God whatever that meant. However the depression worsen as I birthed my third son and I began to feel lost. I began seeing a psychologist that I felt I was smarter than and she prescribed pills for me, which I began taking. I worked with a woman who believed in God and she said those pills are not what you need. You need to go to church and take your family. I said oh my God, how is the church going to help me? I was like most people believing that I was able to control my life not understanding what Gods purpose was in my life. But to make a long story short she was right going to the church was just what I needed and changes begin to happen because I was desperate for a change in me. This woman who told me to go to church not to mention was the owner of the salon I worked in and she was like Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus receiving the word of the Lord daily. She and her life gleamed and ambience of something called perfect, which could only be God. This is not to say she did not have problems, but the word was active in her life by the evidence of spiritual, physical, and material manifestation.
So ask yourself if you have all the answers to life and if what your doing and experiencing in your life is really what you desire? If yes then God bless you. But if no is your answer begin a daily devotion by reading the word of God daily. Get involved with believers that can encourage you to new heights and depths in the spirit realm, that you may experience the manifestations God intended for your life.
