Heeding God’s voice

Excellent, heeding to the word of God is the first sign of humility. Even when the going is bad.

This is God’s word to a people as he x-rayed their situation. Similarly, Jesus x-rayed the situation in Jerusalem in his days saying that, since they do not know the time of their visitation and did not respond appropriately to him as God’s messenger, they will be judged (Luke 19:41-44).

In the Old Testament, God said that he sends to the children of Israel, different messengers, often and early in the morning, but they did not yield to divine warning but were bent on continuing in the error of their ways. Therefore, judgement was inevitable.

When Stephen was preaching to a group of Jews in the book of Acts, he called Israel “stiff-necked, always resisting the Holy Spirit.” Let’s examine…
