Do you know the meaning of Celebrating

Many of enjoy celebrations but do we know the true meaning of celebrating? When you are invited to a party or some form of a special gathering. You are going to cheer or celebrate whomever or whatever is selected in that hour. Some may pass gifts, awards and so on. From the start of the invitation you are excited about going. Preparing your mind and schedule accordingly to join in on the festivities. If a gift is involved. You are planning to put your best foot forward. Assessing and evaluating the best selection for the intended recipient. The days are approaching to this celebration, life happens during the week and the excitement and anticipation increases. Today is the day. The day you will leave your concerns and anything related to simply just you at the door. Grab your coat, clutch or any applicable accessory and leave anything involving you at the door. Do not take your issues or attitude with you to this celebration. We must prepare our minds to celebrate and give to others and we can’t possibly accomplish this goal if we bring ourselves with us.
We celebrate many things in this lifetime but we miss the mark not realizing to celebrate is to give to others. Can you imagine a world where we celebrated and rushed to the door to give those in need? Imagine the joy. The purpose of celebrating is to experience a selfless act on another level and the energy and systematic wave of heightened joy fills and strengthens us. We even sing the song Celebration but forgot the meaning of it. The song invites EVERYONE around the world and to celebrate. To honor God is to give to those in need. The need could be a call, food, money, shelter, time, hug, and any applicable support surrounding the need. Everything surrounding celebration is selfless.
Are you truly celebrating today? The bible says to enter into celebrations that honor God and allow him to fill you with his joy. Notice the word ALLOW. God is truly amazing he won’t even force you but he’s definitely making it a joint effort. If you will permit God to fill you with his joy then God will do so. Ezra told them they should be filled with joy because the day was holy. It was time to celebrate and give gifts to those in need. To Celebrate the very life you have and be filled with Gods Joy to obtain strength will require you to GIVE to those in NEED and then dance about it, Shout about it with Joy, Get it excited about it and then PRAISE God for it! I have JOY TODAY AND I AM FILLED!! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
Nehemiah 8:10New International Version (NIV)
10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
