A Prophet without Honor
“Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith. Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.”
Mark 6:4-6 NIV
A prophet without honor? As I read this & the questions began. Why would they not honor the prophet that was sent to them? The prophets speak the word of God, so could it be possible they didn’t believe him? Then the passage also goes on to say that Jesus was amazed at their lack of faith. I look at Jesus as the keys to our faith. He demonstrated that all things are possible when we release ourselves from the bondage that this world would have us stuck in and follow him whole heartedly in spirit and in truth. By our faith we are healed and so it is so. No one can force you to believe in anything but yourself. But here truly I say to you try him! Try the lords hand and see the blessings manifest in your life. Faith like the wind you can’t see it but we know that it is there. Jesus was not able to do any miracles in that place because they did not believe the word of God that was given to them. But I ask you where does your belief system lie within you?
