Good morning and afternoon Romans 4
You see Abraham believed God and his belief was credited as righteousness. Abraham did not try to be righteous or act righteous, his righteousness was birth out of his faith in God. Abraham believed God for his word and the power Gods word Would demonstrate.
The message version says,
4-5 If you’re a hard worker and do a good job, you deserve your pay; we don’t call your wages a gift. However , if you see that the job is too big for you, that it’s something only God can do, and you trust him to do it—you could never do it for yourself no matter how hard and long you worked—well, that trusting-him-to-do-it is what gets you set right with God, by God. Sheer gift. Amen!
Let’s add the scripture Romans 4:17 to top this off (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
God has given those who are alive in Christ the power to quicken dead things back to life. What we have to become accoustomed to is speaking as the Bible relates and not as life dictates.
Prime example, we believe that Jesus died on the Cross and God raised Him from the dead right? Well by what means did God use to quicken Christ from the dead ? It was through Gods faith and the power of the word United that Christ was raised from the dead ! Yes! So you see even God uses what He gave us in the Bible to transform things to His nature! Life is what God gives, speak over your life and situations, because the word is nigh unto thee even in your mouth. John 1:1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
