​Mark 4:35 As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” As in let’s go to the other side as in crossing the river Jordan. Going to the other side to receive the promise. Crossing always means a change, even the cross of Jesus brought change.

36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed), leaving old things, thoughts, and desires behind, because to follow Christ is to take on His nature, His divine nature.
