Good morning and afternoon,Reflection today serious thoughts and contemplation, thoughts that lead to the past or future declarations. Thoughts of the present saying do I move forward or do I remain the same?
But then there is the mirror we look in that reflects our image daily. The image could be a person were in contact with often or even someone we live with who mirrors characteristics of ourselves. We look at them and judge them saying what changes they need to make yet never seeing the character faults of ourselves and the fact that we found something in another that we feel needs to be changed.
Strangers to ourselves we remain, divided an lost subconsciously to our own truth denying the changes and the power of God that has beckoned us into this earth realm to attain all that His dynamic image ordained.
Genesis 1:26
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Good Morning! Just the other day, my oldest son was asking me about tithing and it’s purpose. These scriptures in Malachi & 2 Corinthians, have always been my favorite because as a little girl, we said it every Sunday before tithes and offerings. I broke down the Scriptures for him, so that he knows what it means to give joyfully vs of necessity. He referenced the widow who tithed all she had. (He had studied prior to asking.) Then his face changed when I emphasized how God will pour out a blessing so big, that there won’t be room enough to receive it. I further explained how a blessing can be anything (not limited to $$) and I gave him examples of the blessings that God has poured out for our family. My son asked how much do we give? I said, all God is asking for is 10%. So if you make $10, you set aside $1 for God. His response; That’s it?! That’s easy!
Indeed, it is. God Bless your day, every one!
Malachi 3:8-10King James Version (KJV) 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

“One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor”. “He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew slave, one of his own people; looking to his left and right; seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand”. Exodus 2:11-12
Moses, one of our greatest leaders in the bible was awakened to his true identity when he committed the murder of an Egyptian. Reminding all that murder is a sin and there is a price to pay where sin abounds. We can commit murder with our mouths by gossiping, slandering others character as well as killing with our hands. Our intention in this writing is to show those who read, that a leader such as Moses had real life issues the same as everyone else. Moses was accountable for his actions; an important characteristic in life. There was no devil involved which is what many people claim victim to, and immediately place blame on. Moses felt compelled to stand up for his fellow Hebrew brothers and sisters, kind of like what’s happen in Baltimore, Maryland and Ferguson, Missouri.
However many times we struggle with choices in life when the odds are presented in our lives, I must say that if you have been dealt an odd hand, this means you have been equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome all odds. While many are born in environments of corruption, and spiritual forces of darkness begin to plant seeds in our minds to conspire to be led by drug sells, gang violence, material gain, louting, and disrespect towards our parents. Stealing, killing, and the failure to understand God’s creation of the Ten Commandments (principles for successful living) is still not relevant in our lives.
We all know that murder is against the law today and is considered a sin, reflecting on the murder committed by Moses, was the one that the Father birthed when He created the commandments. To overcome the mindset that drives a man or woman to commit an offense against the word of God is #1, their lack of connection with God’s righteousness. Being connected to God is like a girl or boy who falls in love, or love at first sight, the type of love that is unconditional. Deuteronomy 5, which is what the Ten Commandments tell us. The key is recognizing the emotions that lead us to hurt others or to compromise them. When we understand what we are doing to one another, along with feeling the pain that we have sown, we often find that we have choices presented to us for change.
Like Moses in the wilderness, I am sure through numerous encounters while running for his life; he may have experienced fear like the Egyptian he killed experienced at the time of death. What is at the root of murder? A mixture of emotions such as rage, anger, disparity, bondage, lack, and confusion; these emotions are manifested causing one to commit the act of murder and other heinous crimes.
Rage and anger, in addition to the other emotions mentioned above have a way of funneling up when entertained to long. These emotions are called from the dark side of man which instigates and stimulates unlawful circumstances and violence. Our position is to recognize the power of choice within ourselves, which means think before reacting in any situation. Our other choice is responsible acts towards life. Thirdly, we must truly ask ourselves “what would Jesus do”?
When we look at Moses’ life, he was not poor in his earlier life, and he definitely was not poor when he came into his latter years. Moses was created with poise and excellence that directed him to understand, later on in the story that he was created as God’s ‘handyman’. He was to be a vessel honoring the work of God.
The analogy of this story is simply for those who read this to understand within you; there is greatness. God has not created one person greater than the other. What makes the difference in life are the choices and decisions we make. Young people; if we choose to follow gang members we will fail. Grown-ups in adulterous situations; rather than keeping the covenant, again, we will fail every time. Along with keeping the covenant, if a person has not received Jesus Christ, they will find themselves as the children of Israel ‘wandering in the wilderness as a lost soul.
Moses put the covenant into effect, but Jesus Christ is the breath of life that makes the covenant of God awaken in our hearts and souls. If you are not saved today, go to Romans 10:9-10 and read the words that give you the confession of Christ, and we will celebrate you, having become a new sister or brother in Christ. 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I recall a young man talking to me about his life of drugs and how he had lost everything because of his actions. Things he said to me was profound. He said even when he turned his life around accepting Christ his family rejected him because they did not see truth the way he did. His father was absent from his life and his mother was bitter. He said in a discussion with his mother he told her he apologize for all he had put her through. Her reaction was that of a angry woman spewing words of discord no peace. This led him to understand his approval and love would only be found in the gift that only God can give a man or woman. He said, “Ms. Kim that gift is unconditional love, but along with that I needed to love myself beyond my faults to meet God. He went on to say that gift God gave me that day picked me up out of the gutter by leading Holy Ghost filled evangelist to pray for me. I could then see beyond the deception and the addiction, God truly loves me and He is a deliver who sets souls free. There is nothing that could keep the love of God from meeting me that day!”
No matter what we have experienced in our lives or through out the week disappointing and traumatically painful the love of Christ is everlasting and sustaining. Gods love reaches in to the utter most depth of the world to save His own. His love defeated the enemy on Calvary and its wonder working power is still available to anyone in need of the savior. Offer Romans 10:9-10 to someone you know whose lost that they may experience the Christ centered love this young man shared with me. Share this text even by reading his experience with a loved one or just pass the message on!
In Jesus name Amen!

I was talking to a counselor friend of mine the other day, and he was telling me about a young man from a very well to do family who gotten hooked on heroin. Unfortunately, as is the case with those addicted to this drug, he had lost everything. Family had done everything that they could to help him, so much so that they were drained holistically to the point where they dropped him off at the rehab facility here in my city and said that he was on his on from now on.
Now, at this point he felt all alone and abandoned, and not even those in his group could console him. He felt worthless! Well, over a period of time, and many ups and downs, the counselor had instructed them to start a “thankful”journal. On one particular day the young man was “down in the dumps”and his journal entry for the day was “I am thankful for NOTHING!” reflecting on what he thought was the worst time of his life. But time passed and the gentleman was now at the end of his treatment, he was asked to give comments of inspiration to the group members. He spoke of that particular journal entry stating that God used what he thought was negative to bring him to a point of sobriety. He stated that if God hadn’t taken him to the point of “nothing” he wouldn’t be where he was at that moment. Today he is a prominent member of society, owns several businesses, and is in the constant battle to stay away from “nothing”. Being the person that I am, several scriptures came to mind, but the Lord embedded 1 Thessalonians 5:18 in my spirit: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” There are many times in our lives that we may come across those that feel they have NOTHING to be thankful for, and after hearing this gentleman’s story, I agree! However, may I submit to you that in those times we as the children of the Most High should be most grateful? Why? I’m glad you asked! “And we know that ALL THINGS work together for good to them that love God, to then that are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). So as you reflect on your day and you come across someone who feels they have nothing to be thankful for, use that as an opportunity to share with them how the Lord required NOTHING of us for the shedding of His blood, and the giving of His life for us. Throughout your day when this runs across your mind, send a smile to the Lord in gratitude and whisper: “Lord… Thanks for nothing”
